«16 étudiants, plus de 80 objets quotidiens allant de la patate fraîche à la chaîne de vélo rouillée, en passant par le coton-tige: ce sont les ingrédients de base d’une semaine d’animation ayant donné naissance à sept films d’animation d’une vingtaine de secondes chacun. Tous sont devenus les bandes-annonces officielles du festival Animatou, mais cela a surtout été l’occasion pour les participants de se plonger dans l’animation image par image, avec comme seule trame narrative – ou abstraite - ce que les objets ont inspiré aux élèves, ce que les élèves ont parfois fait subir aux objets, dans un rapport ludique d’inspiration mutuelle, à la découverte du rythme particulier de l’animation. Riche et diversifié!

»16 students, over 80 every-day objects from a raw potato and a Q-tip to a rusty bike chain: these were the primary ingredients of a week of animation resulting in seven short films of 20 seconds each. All became official trailers for Animatou Festival, but the workshop was above all an opportunity for participants to plunge into the world of animation, frame by frame, the only plot being the objects themselves - what they inspired in the students, and what the students did to them - in an encounter of mutual inspiration and discovery, to the unique rhythm of animation. Rich and varied!”
